Orange Panda Designs was created by Danielle Snow.
I took my three favorite loves: the color orange, pandas, and my imagination for design to create the Wedding Photo Signature Quilt™.
My mother sewed the majority of my clothes growing up. One would think her talent would’ve rubbed off on me, but it didn’t right away. I would make a few things here and there but I didn’t really come into quilting until one of my dear friends was having her first child. I thought to myself, I could buy a gift off her registry (as we all do) or I could put my creative talent to work and make her a baby quilt.
So that’s what I did. After that, I started making baby quilts for all of my friends, since my quilts became high in demand. This became the baby shower quilt phase of my life.
While in that phase, I was also planning my wedding. As I had used my love of sewing and creativity to make baby quilts for my friends, I also wanted to incorporate the same idea in my wedding but wasn’t sure how.
I knew right away, I didn’t want a guest book. That works for many but it just wasn’t what we were about. So I thought, how can we have a guest book without having the actual book?
Then it hit me, why can’t people sign a quilt. My eyes got bigger as I thought, \"why not add pictures to the quilt that represents our day\". The more I imagined the two together, the more I liked it and that’s how the Wedding Photo Signature Quilt was born.
Since OPD is named after my love of pandas and I feel it’s important to give back, a portion of every sale will be donated to Pandas International. Feel free to check out the website at www.pandasinternational.org.
With my creative imagination for design, I hope the Wedding Photo Signature Quilts are only the beginning of what OPD will create so be on the lookout. I found with quilting, you can design them any way you want and the possibilities are endless.
